I am having a problem connecting to my SQL server.
I am try to connect to a MS-SQL Server 2000 (database) through Access 2000
(frontend of database) on our only XP machine. All my NT machines connect
easily, with no problems. A handful of Windows 2000 machines used to give me
problem, but if i would replace the SQLSRV32.DLL with a copy from the NT
machines it would work ok.
BUT on the XP, when i replace the sqlsrv32.dll, i cant make the ODBC
connection. it gives me the errors:
Connection Failed
SQLState: 08001
SQL Server Error: 0
[microsoft][odbc SQL Server Driver] Client unable to establish connection
Connection Failed
SQLState: HY000
SQL Server Error: 126
[microsoft][odbc SQL Server Driver] Unabale to load communication model.
driver has not been correctly installed.
how do get these old sqlsrv32.dll to work on my XP machine?
BTW, the problem with the regular or newer MDAC or sqlsrv32.dll is that i
can connect to the databse from access, but only sopme of the fields show up,
and some dont. i think i would have to do an overhaul of the access frontend
and the sql tyables to fix that....and thats not an option right now....
Please suggest.
