AIUI, no. The future is ADO.Net, so no new features for classic ADO The last
update (besides a couple SPs) for MDAC was 2.8. But who knows, they have
bowed to pressure in other areas (think about Jet)
At the same time, I dont want to use
ADO.NET or Dot Net framework to develop my applications.
So, My question is, Is it a good idea to stick with ADO and Win32 and
Why not? Actually, if you want to use MS technology, it's your only
alternative to .Net, unless you want to go back to the older technologies
such as DAO and RDO <shudder>.
hoping for feature updates for ADO technology in future ?
I have to ask why this is relevant, but the answer is likely to be "no".
Why are "new features" a criterion? Either it does what you need it to do
now, or it doesn't ...
if no, what
would be the likely time period this technology will last or
supported by Microsoft ?
It's already deprecated, but that should not stop you.
