As I said in my video... "I'm not dead yet..." ;)
Ah, I don't wade into Delphi questions. I don't like XML solutions and MDAC is also not one of my favorite interfaces. So...three strikes and I can't be of much help.
Sorry.

I have a slight confession to make that changes this very slightly.
Having performed many tests and scenarios I may have misled you on an
earlier point.
In order to "tidy things up" I started a new Delphi project clearly
demonstrating each of the steps and to make it easier to port to other
machines on which to test it.
I earlier mentioned that taking a valid piece of XML and converting
it to a recordset and back still demonstrated the problem, however
this is NOT the case - therefore reading in from a file valid XML,
converting it to a recordset and then back to XML works fine.
I don't see how, but this suggests that the Oracle data provider is the culprit. Perhaps it's a codepage issue? I'm grasping at straws. You might get somewhere posting this to an XML group.
Unfortunately, this also means that I cannot provide any more assistance. Perhaps it's time you opened up the lines of inquiry by posting it to some newsgroups that deal with XML, Delphi and Oracle.
Bill Vaughn, are you still around? Any light you could shed before he has to take this step? I know Stephen and Ralph would have stepped in by this time if they had seen something that I hadn't.
