Bob, I just converted one of my NWind.mdb databases using Access 2007 and
it
created an entirely new database file with a new extension. Now the JET
4.0
OLE DB provider won't open it. What are customers supposed to do now? Fall
back 10 yards and punt?

You can not use the new 2007 format with earlier tools.

Thus - don't convert.

MSAccess 2007 can use Jet 4 formatted databases with a few exceptions.

AFAIK an alternative replacement for the old ADO/DAO data access libraries
for the new format is still in development.
