I have a couple VB6 applications that I am working with on Vista. My
development machine is on a domain and on XP, I would be able to
authenticate
to a different domain and then run my code to debug. With Vista I am
getting
network permission errors that would suggest that I am not logged in. I
am
able to access files from explorer just fine, but not from the IDE.
I have tried to use mapped drives (where i provided the userid and
password
when mapping) to access the data and still get errors. Any ideas as to
how
to work with this situation? It is as if Vista is running the debugger or
IDE
as a different user to access those files.
You may need to run the IDE with elevated privileges. Being logged in as
Administrator does not help. Either right click VB6.exe and select "Run as
administrator", or use a shortcut and on the Compatibility tab check "Run
this program as administrator".
