I think you have completely missed where I am coming from.
I have a live application that does retrieve recordsets from a database
etc
etc and does exhibit memory problems after the recordsets have been
released.

I have tried to recreate the problem outside the app so as to simplify
things and prove to myself that it is not my approach or understanding of
COM
objects and memory that is in error etc.

I was hoping to get some useful advise from my piers or hopefully more
knowing minds. The test app I have sent the source for is a dummy app -
obviously! Of course it has no real purpose. It's only purpose is to show
a
memory leak that is not of my own creation.

What I am trying to show is that if you create many recordsets and then
FREE
them then the memory doesnt seem to get freed! This is a valid problem -
noone wants a mem leak.

I am not sniping or trying to lay a bummer on anything - just trying to
see
if anyone out there can say anything useful that might help me see what to
do
to stop this happenning.

Ralph - you are the sniper - trying to not help poor innocent developers
and
make them feel bad for even asking. Thanks for nothing.

Anyone - please only reply to this post if you know about any memory
problems in ADO.
Gareth.

I have been unmasked!

I am obviously not your 'pier' nor a 'knowing mind'. Just an ignorant
predator on the innocent seeking opportunities to pounce with negative
impact on cherished schemes.

Thus my suggestions that you are using attributes known to be problematic
and perhaps a test case too contrived to be meaningful can be safely
ignored.

I am truly contrite and sincerely hope someone matching your skill sets will
provide an acceptable answer for your dilemma.
