Yes, I suspected "invalid pointer", based on my search. I have never seen
any resolution for this beyond upgrading mdac to the latest version.

Code Meaning = Invalid Pointer
The error occurred during CreateInstance.
I have searched through the web for the error. Most of the problem is
caused by a mismatch on the MDAC library. However, in this case, I
have the customer ran the Compoent Checker and validated the version
of MDAC and the Jet Engine. Kind of clueless on what else to try or
check.
