Problem Reconfiguring MDAC via Component Checker

I have Windows Me. I'm trying to use MDAC Component Checker v 2.50.4613.0 to check and remove the few hosed versions of MDAC, so that I can then install a new, fresh version.
In the help, it says that if you start Component Checker with a /D command line parameter and then have Component Checker scan the machine without performing an analysis, you will then be able to select the Reconfigure MDAC Components item from the File menu. However, that menu item never appears. I've tried it with no parameters, with the /D parameter, and with both /D and /NR parameters, but that menu item never presents itself.
Is there a trick to getting the File menu item Reconfigure MDAC Components to appear in Component Checker? Thanks.
