Is it possible to repaire damaged MDAC/ADO on XP with SP2 ?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

I'm using Borland C++ Builder as a development tool, and I
use ADO to access various data storages.

I noticed that on maybe 2% of PC's, ADO is somehow damaged.
Updating MDAC with "mdac_typ.exe" always solves the problem,
execpt when the user has SP2 installed, when the "mdac_typ.exe"
cannot be executed at all.

Is there a way to repair MDAC on XP/XP2 ?
