I gave up on Dells long ago.
Because of reliabilty reasons?
If so, I have some issues with various Dells over the years - keyboards
failing due to dirt (starts working if keyboard taken apart and cleaned
every 6 months - a chore), motherboard failure, floppy disk failure, power
suppy/switch failure, fan or thermomitor glitches. Withc other PC's -
motherboard failure, failure of a Promise IDE Controller Card. I have not
had much experience with Compaq's or HP's, the brands I have used over time
are IBMs, Olivetti's, Dell's, Toshiba's & Gateway's (& some miscellaneous
brands). Only the Olivetti's & IBM's have been 100% solid. At a previous
place of work, an IBM machine with an EGA card, 1985 was still going strong
when all the other newer machines had died after several years work. Built
to last.
