If the credentials are saved in the task, it could simply be that your
password changed because, for example, it expired, and you did not update
your tasks accordingly. If so, this is going to be a problem with any
solution.
I don't know what Task Scheduler logs. Did you see anything in the Event
Log?
You could run your tasks under a special user for which the password never
expires.

Hi,
I also had the very same problems with the windows taskschedular. I used
it
to make regular (tape) backups, but it regularly let me down. So i looked
for
an easy (read cheap) alternitive. Turns out there is alot to find out
there.
I then decieded to go with the software i mentioned before. Easy as
falling
down the stairs...

The problem with scheduled tasks, is that sometimes it simply doesn't do
the
job. No error messages, nothing! I discovered once that my password was
wrong so I fixed that and it worked again for about 2 weeks or so. I
checked the properties of the task, confirmed the password, confirmed the
command, confirmed that there is no ending date of the task and it
doesn't
work. Three letters: POS.
And besides, if it run the URL, it pops up in IE, and if don't remember
to
close it, it won't run the next day because IE is already up with current
info in it and doesn't refresh. I've tried IE extensions and such to
make
it auto-refresh. There's gotta be a headache-free way of doing this.
