Is there an OLEDB provider that will support pessimistic locking of resources over the network, much like Mutexes lock resources on a local
machine?
I was looking to OLEDB/ADO to provide that, as we already use it for an
Access database. I was going to set up another Access database with record
locking as a doorway to the restricted resources. However, I realize now
that Jet does not support CursorType = adOpenDynamic, but changes it to
adOpenKeyset which does not see changes made by other users.
Maybe I am missing something -- is there is another way to lock over the
network using a completely different technique? Please let me know any
ideas.
