Read this:
IF this is a staging server/application for production releases, NEVER
take any chances. I've been developing with ADO and ASP since 98, and
have never had a problem with an MDAC upgrade, BUT there might be
nitty gritty things in the versions I've never had to mess with, but
your code might exploit.
Simply copy the physical directories of your web app. to another
server, create the necessary virt. dir., etc and upgrade the mdac
there. Test. If you don't have another server, check the link below
and search for any text regarding "Dasetup.exe", which may allow you
to "rollback" after you upgrade the MDAC on your server.
