MDAC on Win2k3 SP1

Im not sure this is the correct board for this post. I have a program i am
trying to install on our Windows Server 2003 SBS SP1 box and i keep getting
this error on install "MDAC 2.6 Sp1 cannot be installed on this machine.
MDAC 2.6 Sp1 requires.....blablabla Win 95, ME, NT4, 2000

This program WILL install on Windows XP SP2. I checked the MDAC version of
our server and my local xp machine and they are 2 different versions. XP is
running 2.81.xxx and 2k3 is running 2.82.xxx. I also tried running this in
compaytibility mode but get the same error.

I contacted the software vendor and they are looking into it but i was
wondering why the 2k3 version of MDAC doesnt work but the XP SP2 version
does and is there a work around? Or should i just wait for the vendors
response IF they actually respond.
