VFPODBC.msi errors out

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I downloaded VFPODBC.msi but when I try to run the
download, I get this error:

"The system cannot open the device or file specified."

Retry doesn't help. When I click cancel, I get this
message:

"Internal Error 2755. 110, D:\VFPODBC.msi"

This is on Windows XP MCE 2005 SP2. The installed version of VFPODBC.dll in
system32 is the 06-16-1998 913 kb version 6.0.8167.

I'm getting ADO E_FAIL errors on queries via DSN where there is a numeric
field and data that is the full size of the numeric field (ie 3/0 numeric
field with anything greater than 99, or a 2/0 numeric field with anything
greater than 9, etc.). I'm hoping that the newer VFPODBC.dll will fix this.
On my previous system, which I was running until May 1, I had no problems.
