Hi Harald,

Currently, the two solutions provided by MS include
1. checking the registry
2. Run Component Checker

Apart from this, there are a few third party tools that would serve your
purpose. For example, there's one called hfnetchkpro.exe that will tell you
what MDAC version number and MDAC SP you have :
