Typed DataSet

After adding a DataAdapter to a form and then choosing "Generate DataSet" the final step of the process returns the following message:
"Visual Studio could not create an instance of WindowsApplication2.DataSet1. Confirm the class name is a valid DataSet class."
The DataSet.xsd and .vb files were generated and appear OK.
I get the same result regardless of database -- have tried connections to both SQL Server DB and Access mdb.
