Yes. As I said, this version was one of the earliest versions of MDAC. It
was "very immature" code and had so many problems that the engineers at
Microsoft had to make some major changes and release 2.5 some time later.
The changes were so radical that the two versions caused any number of
compatibility issues. Yes, these apply to all versions of SQL Server. I
would not recommend it to any customer. Anyone still using it would be doing
so at their own risk.
