I require to connect to a Sybase SQL server (Adaptive SQL Anywhere 7.0) using Microsoft Access 2002 (XP). I have tried using ODBC and this is painfully slow, I previously connected to MS SQL Server using ADO (and an Access project) and the performance increase was phenomenal - therefore I deduce ODBC isn't great. I don't want to get into a debate over pros & cons of each though.
Can someone please tell me how to connect to Sybase using ADO in Access? I want to list tables in the table tab of the database window in the same way as if they'd been linked using ODBC. Is this possible, do I need some downloads. I couldn't get it to work using an Access project as this seems to only connect to MS SQL Server.
Please help!
Regards
Chris Livingston
