No worries mate, I'm Down Under and any bottle of wine sent my way is
bound to either be lost or broken in transit :)

No, the ODBC drivers require a valid Interbase client to work through,
much as with Oracle you need an Oracle client in place before ODBC and
OLE-DB drivers work.
Very likely, someone once tried Delphi or an old Interbase on your
computer with the 4.xx client on it. You should ensure that all required
files are updated by installing the client on it, not just copying the
GDS32.DLL across.
