If you tell me now, which type of wine you prefer and where to send it, I will take serious considerations about sending it. Already your latest post pointed me into the right direction, and I only came back here to say thank you.
I have indeed two different versions of gds32.dll. The older one is version 4.xx and of course it does only support date-time (timestamp) but not date-fields.
I thought that it is needed only when using Interbase (the original!).
I - frankly - did not know that this library is needed with firebird, because I didn't find a clue about this dependency in firebird "documentations".
Also, I don't have the slightest idea, how exactly _one_ machine managed to get the correct version of it. Most likely on this one machine Interbase 7 has been evaluated and so it got supplied with the actual version of gds32.
Anyway, problem very much solved and I can continue my work.
Thank you very much.
André
