I am an MS expert so this might not apply to Oracle, but it would not hurt
anyone anyway.
If I were you I would try to do something like:
Set the ADO connection setting to true.
Get a tool that will show you what is going on Oracle if such a tool exists
at all (in MS-SQL world there is a tool called SQL Profiler that tracks
whatever T-SQL goes on the server).
See if you can find any clues there.
Also you can check the logs of the Oracle server if you have not checked
them already.
