Hi,
Thank you for posting in the community!
First of all, I would like to confirm my understanding of your issue. From
your description, I understand that you need to check the MDAC version
programatically in a reliable way. If there is any misunderstanding, please
feel free to let me know.
As far as I know, the information of the KB article Q301202 applies to the
following products:
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 (GA)
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 SP1
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 SP2
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5 SP1
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5 SP2
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.6
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.6 SP1
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.6 SP2
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7
If you have had the above products installed successfully, the registry
key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DataAccess\FullInstallVer will
be set properly. So I think this is reliable for there versions of MDAC.
Does this answer your question? If anything is unclear, please feel free to
reply to the post.
Kevin Yu
