I guess we both overreacted, but I am also guessing that you don't like being
called a "paper" anything either. I still haven't found out if anyone else
who has received one of the new certifications received two copies like I
did. (Perhaps one is the "paper certification" and one is the real one :-) .)
I agree there needs to be more regarding "knowing what you are doing" on the
exams. Perhaps the inclusion on simulations in some of the exams will help,
but Microsoft needs to work the bugs out. On one of my simulation questions,
there was no place in which I was allowed to click or enter anything. I
passed that exam, but not with a perfect score so I don't know if I got
credit for that question or not.
I think adding a sponsorship requirement like CISSP would go a long way
toward cleaning up the paper certs. You can't sit the CISSP unless a
current CISSP sponsors you.
