I passed 228 a few weeks ago (January, I think) and I also used the
sybex guide, and a trial version on SQL. I didn't use VMware, just the
plain, standard sql server.
I don't think you've mentioned your experience/history with
microsoft?I'm asking because I'd say I got 15-20 questions that
overlapped with 210/215. I.E. There were several questions on raid,
backups, which drive to store the log/db files on. And file permissions.
It's a lot easier if yu already understand GPO and inheritance (if sally
is a member of a group that has denied read permissions, but she has
read permissions, can se view the DB?)
As for the programming, know your SQL Transaction statements. Select,
obviously, and there were a few others. I didn't get anything on XML, at
all. Must be 229. I don't even remmeber reading it, but I already know
XML, so I may hae skipped it. GO to the microsoft website, read the exam
objectives. Read the book, and practice, practice, practice.
