Re: Folder Redirection Questions

Alex Walker piffled away vaguely:

Quick couple of questions on folder redirection if I may.

Using the Advanced Folder Redirection option, folders can be redirected
according to security group membership. What happens if a user is a
member of multiple security groups, would a copy be placed in each
directory, or how would one group be assigned the priority otherwise? I
note that there is no option to assign an order in which individual
groups take priority in the settings.

Also, is a local copy of the data still kept for redundancy (If I recall
correctly a local copy of any user data stored on shares is downloaded
when a user logs on, so I assume same thing applies here?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Alex.

If you're talking about redirecting using group policy, there is an
order of application. The last policy applied wins. The only way
you're going to answer your question for sure is to try it.

Note: Please try it in a lab environment and not in a production
environment.
