Setting up a multihomed server.

Cut and pasted from another forum, so please excuse the fomat of this query. I'm having trouble setting up a multihomed machine as part of my 70-291 prep. Can anybody see where I'm going wrong?

I'm adding a second NIC to my home Win2003 Server so I can create a separate subnet in order to help me with preparation for 70-291. I've physically added the card and ensured that drivers have been installed correctly. I've assigned it the static IP address of 192.168.2.2/24 (the original card is 192.168.1.2/24), which I can ping.
The machine has been configured as a DC, a DHCP Server (It is successfully serving up IP addresses via the first interface to other machines on the network, and I've configured a scope with a second scope for the 192.168.2.x range with an exclusion for .2), and enabled RRAS and LAN routing options. I've added the second interface, but I'm having a little bit of trouble setting up the second subnet itself if that makes sense.
At the moment the machine doesn't seem to realise that is needs to act as a default gateway for the second subnet (this will contain one PC already joined to the domain and running XP for test purposes, which I haven't physically connected yet), rather than just having a second NIC with an assigned IP. Would I do this through adding static routes, or is there something else obvious that I've missed?

Update time. I've taken the DHCP server out of the equation for now, given the XP machine on the second subnet an IP of 192.168.1.3, and connected it to the second NIC on the router. I can ping 192.168.2.2 (the second NIC card) from the W2003 machine, but not the XP machine, which can ping it's own static address. I've also added routes for both the 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x subnets, and included a copy of my routing table below (192.168.1.1 is the default gateway to t'internet via my ADSL router). If I plug the XP machine into the router and give it an IP address on the 192.168.1.x network it can see the net, so it's got to be a problem with the NIC on the server. I don't understand why 2.2 pings from the server and not from the workstation. Both NIC cards and cabling have been tested and are functional, so I don't believe it's a hardware or drivers problem.
