Is anyone who is reading this board certified with an MCSA: Security? I'd
love to hear your thoughts on that title's value. Posts here are fine, but
I'd prefer that you email me at mdomingo at 101com dot com and leave me with
an email address or phone number which I can follow up with an interview of
your experiences getting certified.
I'm particularly interested in the following:
1. What value does Microsoft's security certification have? (Career, your
personal understanding of network security best practices, etc.)
2. How is the coverage of security topics that you encountered in your
studies while attempting the cert? Does the coverage go far enough, or did
you have to look to external sources to better understand how to keep your
Windows networks secure?
3. Now that you have an MCSA: Security, are you planning to attempt the
MCSE: Security? Why or why not?
