Master degree has nothing to do with certifications.

Certifications are the demonstration for certain technology. (practical
approach).

I am VB6.0, VC++ 6.0 certified that does not mean I am .NET expert too. I
will need to take .NET certifications if I want to demonstrate my .NET
expertise.
