The only issue is employers not having a clue what all these certifications mean. I still get “whats MCAD”.

I agree with you. It's not understandable for me why MS doesn't propagate its certs as it certainly could. I feel like i'm doing cert only for myself, there's no impacts on the employment-like things (like hiring or salary...)
