Hi Rubbert,
I am not aware of the reason but would want to know which
version of Biztalk are you using, and whether you ahve installed all patches
correctly.
Also as far as I knew that once the orchestration message is complete
Biztalk doesnt keep any history etc which would enable it to repost the
Business process.
Are you sure that they are not failed instances and have started working
after some fix?

Hi there,.
For the second time in about a month we encountered following strange
phenomenon.
In the BizTalk Administration tool the number of running orchestrations
suddenly shows a very large number (about 4000 in our case). This is not
caused by new messages entering (because we monitor incoming messages queues
seperately)... and therefore must be completed orchestrations reappearing.
New messages are only processed at a very low pace.
When watched through performance monitor, the number of running XLANG
orchestrations is very small (only the new messages that are processed at a
very low pace show up as running XLANG's).
When rebooting the server, all instances that showed as active in de
administration tool suddenly become active indeed. They all terminate in
errors due to primary key violations in our database... caused by the fact
that they must be "old" messages that are now being processed for the second
time.
Does anybody have experience with completed orchestrations by some strange
reason being reactivated and causing biztalk processing to become very slow?!
