EDI Integration Specialist Job Description:
Our client, a large established company, is seeking an EDI Specialist,
to join their team.
Contract position though 12/31/07 position may be converted to full
time by the end of the year for this reason we can not accept Sub
Vendor or Corp to Corp submissions.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Oversees the development, configuration, maintenance and support of
Integrated Application Interfaces, and work flow process changes, EDI
solutions and transactions. Functions in a mentor role to other
technical staff.
SUPERVISION:
Position does not supervise anyone, however requires demonstrated
ability to lead and coordinate teams and the work of others.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops Interfaces and performs data conversions to/from multiple
diverse systems.
2. Plan and validate future interface/processes arising from new
project implementations, system upgrades, or workflow changes.
3. Demonstrates solid systems and/or business analysis skills.
Analyzes, trouble-shoots technical problems. Documents technical
resolutions. Consults with Project Lead as needed.
4. Coordinate support among various application teams and/or vendors
to provide solutions and responses to information system needs that
span installed and planned.
5. Plan and validate future interface/processes arising from new
project implementations, system upgrades, or workflow changes.
6. Oversees and writes system specifications, documentation, and
training materials surrounding EDI user deployments, data conversion
flow diagrams and new interface implementations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to be self-driven and oversee multiple projects and implement
on a timely basis. Ability to work in a team environment and be a
mentor/advisor as needed. Ability to translate system processes into
clear instructions and/or explanations and implement solutions.
Proficient in Windows environment and with MS Office products
required.
Technical and user documentation skills essential. Must have coding/
programming experience demonstrating abilities to implement new
application interfaces and EDI transactions.
EXPERIENCE:
The candidate must have three to five years of previous experience in
information technology and/or managed healthcare. Strong experience in
analysis and problem-solving. Two to three years experience with HIPAA
transaction formats is required. Systems implementation and strong
skills in application interfaces and data conversions experience
required. Previous experience working with managed healthcare software
applications and implementing integrated interface messaging required.
