BTW, I think the biggest issue for redundance in BTS talk is to cluster
your SQL database. Because in every step the message is saves into
database. If you don't want any data lose, better cluster the SQL server
first.
Cluster Biztalk server is make sure the process(receiving, sending,
ochestration) will not stop if one machine fails.
So, to protect against database lose: cluster SQL server
to protect process disruption: cluster Biztalk server.
Yes, if you just want to cluster your send process, you just need to
cluster 2 machines that handle send port.

Hi, we are going to migrate BTS2004 to 2006 and want to implement
clustering for them. We have 6 biztalk servers and 3 SQL servers. Of
the 6 BTS servers, 2 for receiving, 2 for processing and 2 for sending.
All 6 BTS servers are in the same group. My questions are
1. If we only want to cluster in-process send host on 2 of 6 servers,
do we need to cluster all 6 servers or only cluster 2 of them?
2. How big is the shared disk array?
BTW, I could not see the big benefit of clustering. We have enough
redundancy - we have 2 boxes for each pier to cover it.
thanks,
JJCPA
