RE: Customizing TPM InfoPath Templates

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Adrian,

Thanks for the quick response.

In order to get the error described below I directly tried to edit the
templates that are already exist on disk as part of the BTS installation.
This is per the BTS 2006 documentation.

Thanks.

You should be able to save them on the disk, make sure they are not
readonly and then open them in Design Mode.
When you publish them, make sure you clear the URI field (that specifies
the only location from where they can be opened) and then upload them on
the BAS site.
I didn't understand from your explanation, what exactly did you do in order
to get the Insufficient security privilege error.

Is it possible to edit the TPM InfoPath templates such as the one given
below? The documentation indicates this is possible in "Extending Partner
Schemas" in the BTS 2006 documentation

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\60\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\InfoPath\PartnerProfileAdmin.xsn"

I am denied access with an "Insufficient Security Privilege" error.
However,
I can get the forms into design mode if accessed from the BAS site. I
thought
this was tied to an IE security zone but still no luck when reducing the
security level.

Basically, I want to remove some unnecessary fields from the users view
and
build in some custom fields. The new fields could be saved as custom
properties if necessary. As we have a lot of partners I don't want to
rely on
just using the custom properties UI as it will be too time consuming. I
want
to add 5/6 new fields directly to the form so the user can quickly fill
them
in.

Ideally, I would like to change the form and then re-publish it back to
the
BAS web site.

Thanks.
