RE: Customizing TPM InfoPath Templates

Guys,

Please read my question carefully. Let me clarify and start over.

When BizTalk 2006 is installed the TPM Partner template files are installed
to the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\60\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\InfoPath\" folder. From the BTS 2006
documentation under "Extending Partner Schemas" step 5 it indicates that
these forms can be edited when extending partner information.

See:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/BTS06CoreDocs/html/c019e6c4-b979-477f-80db-3e71eb9142b1.asp

However, I am unable to open these files on my local VPC due to the
"Insufficient Security Privilege" error previously mentioned.

Question:

Why can't I open the templates from this location?

That's it.

Thanks.

Robert, I believe you saved the form file (.xml) on the disk instead of
saving the solution file (.XSN) on the disk. In order to customize the
InfoPath solution you need to save the *.XSN files from the Templates
document library to the disk and then open those in design mode.

BizTalk is installed on a VPC image (stand alone W2K3 server) on my PC. I
am
not able to view or open the InfoPath template in the image from the
location
given. I get the error as soon as I try to open it from the directory. I
am a
local admin.

However, I can open a partner definition from the BAS web site, go into
design mode and save it as a separate file.

Again, I am not able to open the template that is installed by BizTalk. I
have full access rights to that folder. I don't know much about InfoPath
but
would like to customize the form to add and remove some fields as
described
below.

1) What is the recommended way to make changes to the TPM partner
templates?
2) If necessary, how do I open the file from the folder given below?

Thanks

Am not sure I understand your question.
Did you try to open the template in design mode? If you did and then
received the insufficient security privilege, do you have write access
to
the folder?
If you tried viewing the template from that location, it would not
allow
you because the template has domain security privilege.
But, as long as you have modify access on the file and the folder it is
in,
you should be able to open it in design mode.
