Hi Steve,
The deadlocks are problem of your custom DB part (I think it is SP here).
BizTalk can start simultaneously a lot of SPs with SQL ports or .NET code
from the Orchestrations.
You have to tune up the locks on the tables to get rid of deadlocks in your
SPs.
There is no information about deadlocks in the BTS databases. Check this
news group, for example.

Can anybody point me at some documentation or discussions on performance
tuning for BTS 2006?
I am mostly interested in dealing with data coming through a receive port
and how best to be able to handle that.
Currently, if I get too much data, the DB catches on fire and spits
messages
back out - deadlocks.
I've already done some fine tuning within the DB, but if I can find out
more
about how to control both the DB and the BT Server I can create a better
system for the client.
Any pointers much appreciated.

Steve
Hi Steve,
I am sorry that i am not addressing your issue..
but I wants to commnet on the product.
If you are getting huge messages , then i believe BTS 2006 is not a better
solutuion.
The problem is It's using messaging agent(COM Coponent)to communicate with
the message box(SQL Sever)
so Trasporting,Routing and Aggregation is happening at the Data Tier
instead of Trasnsport layer like TCP/IP.
Thats why BTS is not good for Higher data Transfer.
Better go for TIB/Rv or any other messaging tolls.
