Re: Sending Email - BizTalk Server 2004

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your quick response. The info was helpful.

Yes, i am able to ping MyDomain.MyBTS.com. However, port 25 is disabled on
my box as per the network policy in our network. Probably a disabled port is
the reason for failure.

Warm regards,

You can use Ip address or name. If you use name then it must be able to be
resolved. Can you ping MyDomain.MyBTS.com?

The server you specify must be running an SMTP service (listening on port
25). This could be MS Exchange or any mail server that supports SMTP.

The same with POP3, the name specified must be able to be resolved, the
server must be running a POP3 service, again MS Exchange will provide this
functionality.

Hi,

I am trying to send email via BTS2004 and below is the ERROR i am
receiving:

Description:
The adapter failed on an attempt to transmit a message going to send port
with the address "mailto:EmailID@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";. Details: "The
transport
failed to connect to the server"

My OS is Windows Server 2003. I have configured the BTS SMTP adapter with
a
SMTP server name (MyDomain.MyBTS.com) and from email address. I also
restarted the BTS Host after configuring the SMTP adapter.

I am using SMTP server name as MyDomain.MyBTS.com, where MyDomain is my PC
name. Do i need to set up Exchange server on my box to be able to send
emails?

I have also set up POP3 service with same domain (MyDomain.MyBTS.com) and
its corresponding mailbox.

Could anyone plz let me know the possible solutions for my problem?

Regards,

Jay Kinker__
