Re: more questions on MQSeries adapter for BizTalk 2006

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

1. The MQSeries Agent can only exist on a WebsphereMQ for windows server.
So if the remote MQ server is windows based, yes you can connect to the
remote server without having to install MQ Server local to BizTalk. You
will still need to install the MQ Client on BizTalk, and the MQ Agent on the
server.

2. The new MQ Adapter (HIS Adapter) can connect to any MQ Server, because
it will not require that the MQSeries Agent be installed on the MQ Server.

2 issues here.

1. First, Did u test publishing a message from your local MQ to Remote MQ?
This should be successful first, without Biztalk.

2. Your idea is great that publishing message directly to the remote Q
without being installed the local MQ. But what do you tell to your send
Port,
what protocol you want to use?

2 questions:

1. Is it possible to connect directly to remote MQSeries queues from
BizTalk 2006 with MQSeries Agent installed?

I have been able to put messages on a remote queue via a channel on
local
MQSeries server which points to the remote queue, so the host and
Qmanager
settings of the send port in BizTalk are for the local machine. I would
like
to be able to post messages directly to the MQSeries queue on the remote
machine by using the remote host/Qmanager settings for the BizTalk send
port,
but when I try to do that it fails. What do I need to do on the remote
machine to allow posting to remote queue directly?

2. Is there any way possible to post messages to remote MQSeries queues
from BizTalk WITHOUT having to install IBM MQSeries on the same machine?

If I am using BizTalk 2006 and want to use MQSeries messaging BUT DO NOT
want to install IBM MQSeries -- can this be done?

Thanks and Regards,

SF
