We basically just live with those huge port names, they have never been a
problem.
You are correct, if you choose Specify Later, you will have to build the
ports yourself. The Specify Now builds the dynamic port names for you, i.e.
when you deploy your orchestration, the "Specify Now' ports are automatically
created in Biztalk Explorer (and mgt database).
If you go with the "Specify Now" I don't think you can rename them.
One downside of the dynamically created "Specify Now" ports, is that if you
want to override any of the port properties, you have to do it in the
orchestration in code, because if you undeploy/redeploy, it resets all the
properties back to defaults, even if you change them in Biztalk Explorer.
Interesting enough, if you have one of these "Specify Now" ports in your
orchestration, when you bind your orchestration, it auto-selects the host.
I never figured out why that works that way.
