Thank very much for the hint. Finally through a series of network tests
and
some luck, I found that it was in deed the WAN connection dropping out for
only second or two every 25 minutes. It wasn't enough to interupt normal
WAN
use but enough to time out TS during heavy use.
Thanks again for your input. And yes, I know the hazards of running
Application mode on SMB (AD), but its all I can do for the moment. Trust
me
I'm changing the netwok configuration asap.

A couple of thoughts...
While using a domain controller (SBS 2000) as a TS in Application mode is
not a good practice, I assume you still have ISA installed and 2 NICs in
the
SBS server.
To troubleshoot, attach a laptop or spare workstation to a port on the
router, put it in a workgroup, give it a IP address in the same range as
the
LAN side of the router and a gateway of the router IP address. Now, TS
into
the SBS server and see if the session is disconnected after 20-30
minutes.
If so, the problem is with the SBS 2000 server configuration or software.
If it does not disconnect, the problem may be in the router (bad router
or
some settings in the router config) or it could be that your ISP has
changed
something and is causing the disconnects.

I have a SMB2000 providing a handfull of TS sessions to remote PCs. Has
been
working great for 2 years. Now all TS connections are be dropped every
25-30
minutes like clockwork leaving nothing in eventlogs on server or PC.
Users
only get "TS connection has been broken" pop up. No changes have been
made
to the server. Scanned for virus and malware using Symantec
Enterprize,
online Housecall and others but found no viruses. Local server and LAN
function is awsome with no hick-ups at all. Just the TS sessions over
WAN.
There are 2 TS sessions operating on LAN with no problem. Fortigat and
T1
have been refreshed and stress tested and showing no problems there.
Does
anyone have other ideas on where to look next. I'm lost.
