This should work although, if you have a small amoun of users it might be
easier to just recreate them after the reinstall . Exchange databases
should remount if you have an offline copy and rename the SBS Server the
same name as before. You can also go to www.sbsmigration.com for some
additional info on this scenario.

I have an existing SBS 2000 Server with Exchange Server that needs to have
the OS wiped and reinstalled due to some major corruption by a hacker. I
have a Windows 2003 R2 server that is also a domain controller in the
existing domain.
I saw in KB-884453 how a SBS 2003 server can be added to an existing
active
directory but it is not clear if this will work with SBS 2000. Is this
possible and if so are there any additional important issues I need to
watch
out for?
