Re: Incorrect login information and roaming profile

Exit everything you have running. Start only Internet explorer, abort
any password requests, Tools, Internet options, Content, autocomplete
and click clear passwords.

Now exit internet explorer, reopen it, put in the new password and
and tell it to save.

It sounds like you local cached passwords are faulty.

Yep I had checked all the outlook profile information and it was all correct.
Again when i tried to check any of the information the login dialog popped up
constantly.

This issue is not only occuring with Outlook but also IE and access the
users "home" directory from the network.

Have you checked that Outlook is actually trying to open the correct
Exchange mailbox ? (Use the mail icon in control panel to check or right
click the Outlook applet and configure it).

I have seen a similar error where a server I came accross had the users
roaming profile, roaming between a terminal server and XP desktop.

As the AD allows you to have a special Terminal profile, I do not know
why they pointed both to the same place but the downside for this person
was Outlook XP on the Terminal server and Outlook 2003 locally. On the
Terminal server, the Outlook profile came up with the wrong mailbox
selected and the user was of cause denied access.

After killing the Outlook profile and recreating it, it never happened
again (And I then seperated the two profiles)

We have user on the network who when they login using their roaming profile
to any of our new Windows XP machines and start Outlook she received error:

"Your logon information was incorrect. Check your username and domain, then
type your password again. If your account is new or if your administrator
requested a password change you need to click Change Password then logon with
your new password. "

If she tried to enter her network username and password again it just
continues to prompt her and eventually boots her out. She also has the same
issue when she opens IE. She is prompted constantly for username and password.

One message she received mentioned something about the username she is
entering is different to the one used to login to the computer. I have
changed her username and password so she can now get past these prompts by
entering the new information but she is still getting the prompts.

Any ideas?
