Re: Upgrade SBS2000 to SBS2003

OK, then it sounds like you're seeing the problem addressed in the KB. With
any luck at all, just following the steps as outlined in the article should
solve your problem. Please post back and let us know your results.

The is still Present, and i have tried to dcpromo it down, , and thats
when i
get the:
" "The Operation failed because the attempt to Configure the machine
account
IBMSERVER$ on DELLSERVER server.pureboand.local failed " Acces is
denied"

Specify an account with Enterprise Administrator prrivileges to the
forest
"purebond.local."
and have also checked that Enterprise Adminstrator is in the Administrator
(users)

Is that server still present? If so, can you just dcpromo it down to a
member server?

The domain Administrator account should be a member of the Enterprise
Admins
security group. If it's not, fixing that should solve your problem.

Also, see this KB. It's pretty straight forward, but if you mess up with
ntdsutil there's a risk of big consequences that will need a lot better
AD
person than me to solve. So take notes of everything you do just in
case.

See this: ""You must be a member of the Domain Admins, Schema Admins,

Also, I can't remember the exact details where you'll see errors from
this,
but if you have a second DC, make sure it's a global catalog server.
And,
make sure your actual Administrator account has not been moved from
the
Users container in AD. This is the top-level container (not OU)
called
just
Users - not one under My Business.

Help,

has anyone come across this, when you run the SBS2003 upgrade (when
it
does
its checks, to see if you have the right Services Packs etc...)

I get this:

"You must be a member of the Domain Admins, Schema Admins, and
Enterprise
Admin Group" and a RED X

I am logged in as Administrator and have checked in the
Administrator
Pro
that the required ie (Domain Admin, Schema Admin etcc... are in it)

Dont know what to do next.
