Re: MSSQL problem with BackupExec

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I have uninstalled BackupExec with its own Uninstaller and removed all
components as far as I could see. The server rebooted normally afterwards
with no errors.
I then installed the MSDE separately as suggested in a BackUpExec newsgroup.
And that went fine as well and no errors occurred.
When I then reinstalled BackupExec, it did find the instance of the MSSQL
database and continued with the installtion without any error.
But after another required reboot, I got back the same error as before and
the MSSQL log looks the same as before.

Hmmm. Googling turns up nothing obviously useful.

I'd try uninstalling BackupExec, making sure there are no traces of it,
rebooting and verifying that the SBS works properly with no unexpected
errors, and then try reinstalling it.
