I don't know if this is the correct place to post or not but I am
experiencing an issue on one of our suers machines that has got me
confused...

The user when logged onto our company domain opens an Excel file with links
to other excel fiels on the network and access is reaaaaalllllllyyyy slow...
Even simply closing this doc takes forever, and when you look at the task
manager while it is closing, Excel is using almost 100% CPU... This even
happens when the excel document is sitting on the users local hard disk!

However, if he logs on local (i.e. not onto the domain) and accesses this
exact same Excel doc, it is lightening fast...

What should I be checking for to try to trouble shoot this for him??

I checked running process (using MSCONFIG and task manager) - nothing out of
the ordinary there... Ran a complete virus scan - nothing there.. Turned
off many services not requried... no change... It's almost like it's
completely related to network speed or something when he is logged onto the
domain... and all this vanishes when logged on locally... We have a Win2K
Small Business Server so it is the primary domain controller...

Oh ya, he has all the most recent updates installed... OS is XP Pro SP2...
AND I ran a "detect and repair" from the Excel "Help" menu - no change...
(Excel 2000)

Any ideas??
