Re: Client PC cannot access internet

flush and register had no effect.
ISA was removed through Add/Remove Programs.
Can ping local NIC
Cannot ping external NIC or router.
error is 'page cannot be displayed'.
Firewall client is not installed on the server.

I'm going to re-install ISA and see what happens.

What happens if you do an ipconfig /flushdns at the workstation?
Then do an ipconfig /registerdns and try to access the Internet from
the workstation.

How was ISA removed from the SBS server? (Add/Remove Programs?)
Can the workstation ping the external NIC IP?
Can the workstation ping the router IP?
What error does it give when the workstation can't access a web page?
The firewall client isn't installed onthe server, right?

I'm also not sure what you lose when you uninstall ISA from SBS 2000. I'm
sure you lose some integration.

I think I might turn off RRAS, remove the external NIC and set up the LAN
side of the router with a static IP in the same subnet as the SBS and
workstation.

OR

Reinstall ISA and use SBS 2000 the way it was designed. ;-)

I've done as you and Cris have suggested, same result. ie.
remote users can log into network via VPN connection,
local users can do everything required of them EXCEPT access the
internet!!!
Server can access the internet.

Binding order.
Local NIC is first in the list, but both NIC's have File & Printer
Sharing,
& Client for Microsoft Networks bound as well as shared modem
serivce.

Please post an ipconfig /all for the server and workstation.

Have you checked the binding order of the NICs?
----------------
Right click My Network Places...Properties. Highlight the Internal
NIC.
Then
select Advanced...Advanced Settings from the top menu for that
window.
This
will check the bindings.

The Internal NIC should be displayed first followed by the External
NIC.
If
not, move the Internal NIC to the top of the list.
The Internal NIC should have File and Printer Sharing bound
(checkmarked)
to
the TCP/IP Protocol.
The Internal NIC should have Client for Microsoft Networks bound
(checkmarked) to the TCP/IP Protocol.

I've already found and tried this with no success.

Any other ideas?

Hi,
I've just reconfigured a customer's SBS 2000 server to allow
for
VPN
access.
It had been running using a single NIC, I've added a second
NIC
and
re-run
the Internet Connection Wizard and enabled RAS. The required
PC
can
now
access the network via VPN, however, now the internal clients
cannot
access
the internet. Clients can access the server, send and receive
email,
access
network printers etc. Firewall client is not installed, ISA is
not
installed.
DHCP is enabled using internal NIC'c IP in the scope options,
DNS
is
configured using the internal NIC IP.
Any idea what's gone wrong?
