SBS2K with Adaptec 1200A IDE RAID 1
After replacing a failed disk, the RAID 1 duplicated the info to the new
mirror disk from the existing survivor. All booted up fine (well, to be
exact, I had disabled all the Trend stuff the previous day before the
grinding drive finally failed, so it booted up without the Trend AV
modules).
However, when I enabled the Trend and rebooted for the server to start up
with all progs blazing, I got a 'one of yourd disks needs to be checked
for consistency' and then a few 'deleting corrupt attribute record from
file record segment' type messages, before the OS fully loaded.
In fact, it never loaded again...I now just get BSOD:
STOP: c0000218 (Registry file failure)
The reg cannot load teh hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent or not writable.
Have tried with the new mirror drive alone, no go either. But when I take
the drive out and attach it to a normal PC, all seems to read fine.
Any ideas?
