Re: Printing issue...

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks for that...

However, I saw this exact same issue on a Windows XP machine as well... I
realize "Home" can't join a domain but was surprised to see this same issue
arise when trying to connect to a shared printer on an XP Pro machine from
another XP Pro machine in the same domain!! I had to supply credentials to
add the shared printer! Then I had to map a network drive using credentials
on that machine so that I could print to it once the connection has been
lost (i.e. a reboot)! This has never happened to me using XP Pro before...
I wonder if it has something to do with a SP2 bug ??

I hear what you are saying regarding the personal laptops. We enforce a
policy whereby the personal laptops MUST have the client version of our
enterprise anti-viris software installed. At least when they connect to our
network, they are goong to get the most recent virus def files. We are also
looking at implementing an enterprise anti-spam product as well.

Even with these policies in effect though, you still run risks and we
realize that.

Thanks,

Brad
