OK Rex,
I'm going to ask you to do a couple of things.
1) We will remain in one thread. All discussion of your problem(s) will
remain as a continuous/contiguous discussion.
2) Focus. I don't give a Rat's Heiney about whether you do or not like ISA
or whether you're going to trust someone to take control of your system, the
correct answer to 'is that all that's wrong?' is 'yes' (or 'no').
3) Ten deep breaths. You're stressed and have had enough of this $%*()(*%
problem which has been (^&%*$# plaguing you and now you've got some %^*&(*&%
smart-alec on the internet who seems to have nothing better to do than get
under your skin :-)
Which AV system are you using? I would normally expect workstations on a
network AV system to update from the primary server, not requiring internet
access to do so.
This 'Enterprise Firewall' thing you've mentioned, what is it and do you
have any previous experience with it?
Please supply the FULL output of 'ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt' from a
command line. If you feel you MUST hide such info you can delete the MAC
addresses but if you change ANY IP, DNS, or DOMAIN info ensure you do so
consistently.
Do you also have seperate internet access to test connections from outside
to your server?
Please advise if your AD DNS name is the same as your internet FQDN. Though
this is a pet hate of mine we CAN live with it, it is just important that
I/we know.
