**Update**
Due to a problem with IIS (darn users!!) we had to restart our SBS
server.
Once it was restarted I tried to access the remote SQL server before
any of the other users connected to the network Low and behold I got
connected first time!
I hope it was the reboot that kicked the changes to the ISA server,
I'm doing a few more tests with avarage user loads on the network (to
rule out local Bandwidth issues)

I'll update later today once the tests have run!!
